My search for something more began with a deep loss.
I am a cardiologist by profession and deal with all matters of the heart. Preparing for and anticipating the birth of my firstborn child was a very personal matter of the heart.
It was nearing the time for delivery of my baby girl, Ria. A vacuum assisted birth was attempted and three hours later, she was born. I remember hearing the faintest cry and I was relieved.
4 Days later, however, sweet Ria passed away from a head bleed. I never got to bring my baby home.
“She died on Mother’s Day. Her time of death was my time of birth both literally and figuratively.”
That loss in 2008 was the start of my journey and occurred right in the middle of an already grueling cardiology training program. I yearned for peace and purpose.

Even though Ria passed away on Mother’s Day, I was blessed to become a mom again in 2011 and 2014 and I successfully completed Cardiology training. Everything should have been perfect, right?
Wrong.
I was so bogged down with my daily obligations, struggling to juggle being a great mom, a great wife, and a great physician. I was sleep deprived and stressed to the max. My mind was going a million miles/minute with the endless number of things to do.
I knew that continuing like this was not good for my health –mentally or physically. I knew that there was more to life than this.
I remembered the journey that I began when I lost Ria and I was ready to live my life by design.
It helped me be the wife and parent I wanted to be.
It helped me channel the love that I wanted to channel.
It helped me respond and not react in the moment.
It opened me up to the realm of infinite possibilities in my life.
My life has changed forever and now I want to help you change yours.
